~*~Aren't these the cutest Jack Russell Terrier's?~*~

+++ Here is a picture of our dog "Chase", who was 8 weeks old then. He is a Jack Russell Terrier. He has won all our hearts, and we don't know how we will keep from spoiling him. My standing joke is that he looks like a Beanie Babie on helium. Our son-in-law, Bryant, thinks we should have named him Mack, 'cause he looks like the shape of a Mack truck from the rear view. +++Smiles+++

~A poem for Chase~

We brought a little puppy home, his name is Chase,

And if you saw him you'd agree he has the cutest face.

*

He's in the little puppy stage wanting to chew and bite,

And when he's playing tug-o-war, he sure is a wild sight.

*

Pulling, growling and tearing up his toys,

Now I think I know where the saying comes from,

"Boys will be boys."

*

I have heard that Jack Russell Terriers

can be a very big handful for sure,

But our commitment to raising and loving him,

Will always endure.

*

This breed of dog may be a big challenge for us,

But the contentment we see in his eyes, is definitely worth the fuss.

*

Appreciate these little wonders presented to us,

And remember that they all are so very precious.

*

When I think about it, a pets unconditional love,

I know in my heart is a gift from above.

This will probably crack you up laughing, but living here in Georgia, or anywhere, you might find out that your pet has been skunked...Here is a formula that I came across to help get your pet back to his/her usual sweet smelling self...***LOL***

If your pet has been skunked:

MIX TOGETHER:

1 QUART OF 3% HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

1/4 CUP OF BAKING SODA

1 TEASPOON OF LIQUID SOAP { ANY TYPE }

Mix the above ingredients together and apply to pet. Leave on for five minutes. Then rinse very well. If needed, apply a second application. Warm water is recommended for the comfort of your pet, and to help activate the ingredients... GOOD LUCK!!***  { This little tip was put here in memory of our little dog named Rusti. She passed away a couple of

***CATS***

***Now I have something safe to help keep stray cats out of your yard. Don't get me wrong, I love cats. I have two females, Molly and Emily. I also have one male, named Davey. It is a simple formula that can be made up quickly, and it doesn't hurt the cats. It just persuades them to stay away.

Peel two oranges and cut up the peel into fairly small pieces.

Next, mix in about 1/4 cup of moth crystals.

Spread this mixture in any area that you have been having problems with cats. It is good to put around gardens also. Our cat Molly, loves to eat the tomatoes we grow, so this has been a good idea to let her know that we didn't plant them for her to eat.***

This is for those of you who are bird watchers. Especially those who enjoy to lure those adorable hummingbirds into your yard.

I have an easy recipe to make up natural nectar for your feeders. Most people buy those packets at the store and mix them up, but there are preservatives in those mixes. Try this one!

I/2 cup of sugar

2 cups of water {It is good if the

water is filtered of clorine, etc.}

First, put the 1/2 cup of sugar into

one cup of the water. Mix thoroughly,

until the sugar granules dissolve. Secondly,

add the other cup of water and blend well.

This mixture is now ready to put into a clean

hummingbird feeder. I recommend that

you clean out your feeder before refilling

each time. Being outside, it should be checked

often and kept clean.

I have been making this up for many years now, and it really works. Give the birds time to find it. I even keep the nectar out there during the winter, as long as we don't have freezing weather.

Some types of hummingbird, I am told, stay around for the winter. I would think if it doesn't get too cold, that is possible.

Hope this little recipe comes in handy for you. I feel better about making the nectar up fresh for the birds. They give us so much enjoyment so that it is my gift back to them...
